Becoming a member

The Toastmasters programme is suitable for both women and men (the minimum age is 18). The atmosphere is friendly and informal.

Members are from a variety of occupations: education, PR, journalism, sales, hotel administration, design, museums and many other categories from computing to homeopathy. Many of them have to talk to groups regularly in the course of their work, and feel there is room for improvement. Everyone believes that developing the ability to speak in public is character-forming and beneficial to their careers. Becoming a member of Dundee Toastmasters provides access to the Toastmasters International communication and leadership programs. You also become a part of the world-wide Toastmasters' community.

You are welcome to come to one of our meetings (there's no need to arrange this in advance) or, alternatively, why not contact us.

What does it cost?

Dundee Toastmasters is a non-profit making, educational organisation.

To join the club you have to pay a one off membership to Toastmasters International at a cost of £10. This pays for your Communication and Leadership Manuals, and other educational materials. You will also receive the Toastmasters monthly magazine with lots of hints and tips on public speaking.

In addition, the Dundee Toastmasters subscriptions are £54 for six months, or £90 for 12 months (a saving of £18). This fee is reduced pro-rata depending on how far into the Toastmasters year you join.
